Vishay Unveil High-Temperature Rugged Toroidal Power Inductor for Solar Inverters and Wind Power Converters

April 5, 2026, Pennsylvania, USA Vishay Intertechnology launched a new industrial high-temperature resistant toroidal power inductor series, specially developed for harsh working environments of photovoltaic grid-connected inverters, wind turbine power converters and energy storage bidirectional power modules, filling the market gap of high-reliability toroidal power inductor suitable for outdoor new energy equipment. Solar and wind power equipment is often deployed in open-air environments, facing extreme temperature fluctuations, high humidity, dust corrosion and frequent voltage surges. This new toroidal power inductor uses high-temperature iron powder toroidal core and double-layer high-temperature resistant polyimide insulated winding wire, supporting continuous operating temperature up to 155°C and instantaneous peak temperature resistance of 170°C, far exceeding the temperature limit of ordinary commercial inductors. The fully sealed epoxy encapsulation structure of the toroidal power inductor improves dustproof and moisture-proof performance, reducing the failure rate of magnetic components in outdoor power equipment by more than 60%. In power performance, the product series covers inductance specifications from 2.2μH to 1000μH, with high saturation current characteristics to cope with instantaneous surge current during grid connection. The closed toroidal magnetic circuit of the toroidal power inductor optimizes power conversion efficiency of inverters, helping new energy equipment manufacturers meet national and international energy efficiency certification standards. Vishay’s industrial product department stated that global renewable energy installed capacity will reach 2800GW by 2034, and durable high-temperature toroidal power inductor will become standard configuration for new energy power conversion systemsDataintelo.
