Industrial Automation Firm Adopts 33uh Inductor for Precision Motor Control Systems

Industrial technology provider AutoDrive Systems has selected a high-reliability 33uh inductor from PowerComp Components to enhance the performance of its servo motor drives used in manufacturing robots. The inductor plays a key role in filtering ripple currents in the drive’s DC-DC converter, ensuring smooth current delivery to the motor windings and improving position accuracy by 8%. “In industrial environments, consistent performance under extreme temperatures and voltage fluctuations is non-negotiable,” explained Thomas Reed, Chief Engineer at AutoDrive. “The 33uh inductor’s rugged construction—including a hermetically sealed package and high-temperature copper windings—enables our drives to operate reliably in conditions ranging from -40°C to 125°C.” PowerComp’s 33uh inductor also features low DC resistance (0.08Ω max), minimizing power loss and contributing to the drive’s overall energy efficiency. AutoDrive has already begun shipping the upgraded motor drives to automotive and aerospace manufacturers, with initial customer feedback highlighting improved production line throughput.
