Automotive Supplier Qualifies 33uh Inductor for Electric Vehicle Battery Management Systems
Automotive component supplier AutoPower Solutions has successfully qualified a 33uh inductor from PassiveTech for use in battery management systems (BMS) of electric vehicles (EVs). The inductor is used in the BMS’s cell balancing circuit, ensuring uniform charging and discharging of individual battery cells to extend battery life and improve safety. “EV manufacturers demand components that meet stringent automotive standards for reliability and durability,” said Elena Gomez, Automotive Business Unit Manager at PassiveTech. “Our 33uh inductor undergoes rigorous testing, including 1,000 hours of thermal cycling and vibration testing equivalent to 10 years of road use, to ensure it performs flawlessly in EV applications.” The inductor’s low self-heating 特性 (self-heating characteristic) also helps maintain optimal operating temperatures within the BMS, reducing the risk of thermal runaway. AutoPower Solutions has already secured a supply contract with a major European EV maker, with production of the 33uh inductor set to begin at its dedicated automotive-grade facility in Germany.
