EV Charging Stations Upgraded with High-Current Toroidal Coil Inductors
Detroit — ChargeGrid, a U.S.-based EV infrastructure company, has announced a major hardware upgrade to its fast-charging network. The new charging units are equipped with toroidal coil inductors capable of handling 50% higher current loads without overheating.
This allows electric vehicles to charge more quickly while maintaining strict safety and thermal stability standards. The inductors, manufactured by PowerMag Components, use a custom copper winding pattern to maximize efficiency and reduce energy losses. ChargeGrid’s CEO stated that the upgrade is part of the company’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for high-power charging solutions as EV adoption accelerates. Field tests in multiple cities have already shown a measurable reduction in charging times for popular EV models.
