Common Mode Inductors: Key to EMI Resistance
Common mode inductors are crucial components in
managing electromagnetic interference (EMI) in electronic circuits. These
inductors are specially designed with two coils wound on the same core in
reverse phases. This design is essential for blocking unwanted EMI signals from
external sources while allowing normal signal currents to pass. The coils work
together to generate a magnetic field that cancels out the effect of normal
currents while amplifying the impedance against common mode currents. This property
makes common mode inductors highly effective in suppressing both high-frequency
noise and unwanted signals.
